Boom!
The night began with a steady rumble as the percussion ensemble started “Tigers Blood.” The thunder of the song hooked the attention of the audience immediately and long enough to be completely transported into the music of the next song, “Augmented Realities.” Next up was a memorable piece, “Jazz Police,” which brought an intriguing phase of tune to the concert. At one point, Christian Pronk switched between several different instruments in the song. Also in a talented fashion, Annie Kunkel, Ella Meyers, Mady Ryan, and Alice Dong played solos in the performances. Mr. Batteiger directed them exceptionally in numerous other pieces. Proof of the band’s success was in the ardent applause from the audience at any opportunity. What a lovely night to experience the fruit of growing musicians!
