Each first day of a new year is met with jitters and excitement from faculty, students, and staff. The first day for freshmen has students looking puzzled with bewilderment and confusion. While the first day for seniors shows faces of excitement and halls filled with giddy conversation as they meld over their summer excursions. Others enter the halls in exhaustion as the day begins due to their lack of sleep from nervous jitters. Mrs. Sampson shared her own experiences: “The day before any first start, I find myself staring at the clock waiting for the alarm to sound and the day to start. Needless to say, I am exhausted, but excited.” The same excitement was felt by Sophie H., who stated, “The first day of 11th grade was a mix of excitement and nerves. As the day went on, the teachers made the first day laid back and fun by introducing themselves to us and outlining the plans for the school year ahead. Although the morning was a rough wake-up call, the rest of the day went by smoothly!”
As we begin, the staff of Paw Press would like to shout out, good luck to all students and staff in the 2025-2026 school year. Continue in the Tradition of Excellence as we represent the Walton-Verona High School Bearcats. Be as Maxwell, Mrs. Walters, pet fish – Just Keep Swimming!
