Walton-Verona FFA chapter is a student organization, which is run by the student, for the students. This means most of the body of the FFA organization are AG students. The only non-FFA members are advisors which helps guide the members, but all activities and changes to the FFA must come from the students which make up the student organization. Future Farmers of America has gotten popular over the years, today in total there are over 1 million FFA members all over the country ranging from all the states plus Guam and Puerto Rico.
How to join to become an FFA member? The 2 requirements include taking an agriculture class and to have supervised agriculture experience. If you are taking an agriculture class, you are required to make a SAE. So the real and only requirement is to take an AG class!
What do FFA members do? A lot. FFA members have the opportunity to go to national conventions, and oh boy, this is big – at Walton-verona, 14 members go to national conventions where they experience activities amongst 300,000 FFA members. No joking; they pack half of the Indianapolis Colts Stadium. If you like a less-packed audience of people, Walton-Verona has monthly activities where we play games, host meetings and just have a good time.
FFA has opportunities for everyone, whether you’re a senior or a freshman. You can make a difference!
