Homecoming dance has always been met with mixed reviews from both faculty and students. To get the scoop, our very own Ms. Roberts gave her perspective as well as, the opinion of her students. See what they have to say, review the photo gallery, and decide for yourself. Good old-fashioned dance or dance dud?
According to Ms. Roberts, good old-fashioned – “The homecoming dance this year really restored my faith in a good old-fashioned school dance! I was very impressed with the turnout and overall vibe! Everyone was dancing together and just having fun. No one seemed to care about being ‘too cool’ or trying to impress everyone, which was refreshing to see! Everyone looked amazing as well! I am already looking forward to chaperoning next year!” – Ms. Roberts
Her counterparts, however, may see it as a dud – “The Hoco dance was better this year. I loved dressing up. But I do have some issues – there should be voting for some songs. Plus, I think there should have been an epilepsy warning for the dance with the flashing lights. There should be a younger DJ or instead of voting for a song, we can give recommendations to the principle at the dance and if they approve, go ask the DJ to play the approved songs.” – Nick Brumley (10th Grade)
“I enjoyed dressing up and hanging out with my friends. The dance itself was okay. I thought it was kind of boring and the music was okay. The DJ didn’t let a song play through, so we didn’t get to hear the whole song, which was annoying.” – Leyton Morrison (10th Grade)
No dance is perfect. Hopefully you looked past the “annoyances,” and made the best of time with your friends!
