On Thursday, the twenty-fifth of September, the Walton-Verona FCCLA attended the first regional meeting. The entirety of region 7 learned about our year-long community service project for the 2025-2026 school year (advocating for childhood cancer). The guest speaker was a nurse from Cincinnati Children’s who informed us about the life of a child with cancer and what we could do to collect donations, both monetary and material. We met our regional officers and had meetings with them in small groups. I was in a group with the Vice President of Competitions. He spoke about what it is like to compete and provided many tips on how to compete. After the regional meeting had concluded, the Walton-Verona FCCLA indulged in our tradition of eating at Raising Cane’s and then headed back to school. Overall, this field trip was a great start to the FCCLA competitive and non-competitive year! If you’re interested in joining FCCLA, email Mrs. Smithers or come to one of the club meetings on B and D days! It’s going to be a great year, and I’m really looking forward to seeing you all at the next meeting!
