For years, Mrs. Swanson has been a familiar face at the front desk, but has now taken on a new role as Bookkeeper. For 5 years, Mrs. Swanson served as the front desk secretary and was an asset to students, faculty, and staff. Her easygoing personality and open ears created a safe environment for all those around her. Now, she is overcoming the hurdle of learning a new career while also staying positive the whole journey. The change been bittersweet, as her position lessens the amount of student interaction: “The downside is that I do not get to interact with students as often. I always looked forward to my conversations with the students and the student office aides.” Although her interactions have shifted, she is still heavily involved in her office duties and always makes an effort to talk to those around her.
Mrs. Swanson’s new bookkeeping job still has an effect on those around her: “I have always given 100% to any task I do. I want to ensure that bookkeeping requests are accurately completed in a timely manner and, in turn, help WVHS staff efficiently.”
