Harmonious lyrics fill the room from choir students. Choir students put in an incredible amount of work, often going above and beyond to develop their vocal skills and contribute to the success of the ensemble. Behind every beautiful performance, there’s a choir student’s tireless work ethic and dedication to the art of singing. Such hardworking students get recognized for their talents by being able to perform at All State Choir. All State Choir is made up of students across the Commonwealth who have earned membership in the group through a rigorous addition process. They will perform in Louisville, February 7th at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. This year’s All State choir students are: Brina Thornton, Emery Hedges, Emma Wolfe, Olivia Hedges, and Emily Kennedy.
With great talent comes great bragging rights. Senior Emma Wolfe reminisces on her All State journey: “This will be my fifth year doing All-State choir, and it is truly a magical experience. It’s such a unique opportunity to be surrounded by people who love the same thing and want to work hard on it.” Emery Hedges, a freshman this year, describes her journey throughout choir and how choir has influenced her life: “I’m very lucky for this to be my 4th year in All-State choir. The opportunity to grow and work with many people and directors from all around the state!” The All State Choir experience often fosters personal growth, musical excellence, and lasting friendships among peers.
