Winter break for 2024-2025 was already long enough, but mother nature appears to think we need an extension of time within our houses. Beginning Sunday, January 5th, the ice fell, and snow showers followed quickly after, leaving an average of 6.2 to 8 inches in many areas of Northern Kentucky, including Walton-Verona.
For some, such weather means fun in building a snowman and sleigh riding, while for others it means laboring outside to care for farm animals and shoveling driveways, or should I say cracking the ice. Today, January 8th, all fun will have to subside until after completion of assignments, as students and teachers work from the comfort of their couch in cozy pajamas with a majestic view of the Winter Wonderland.
The majestic is expected to continue, as WLWT predicts 2 to 4 more inches of snow and ice beginning Friday, January 10th from 2pm to Saturday at 6am. It may be more time spent at home working behind closed doors.
