“What college are you going to?”
- Why that college?”
- “Are you even going to college?
- “What are you majoring in?”
- “Are you going to live on campus?”
In the earlier years of education, many adults congratulated students on the twelve years of freedom promised before the wretched world of adult-ing. Then, suddenly, the first day of high school erupts with quiet, explosive questions of the season after graduation. After all, school is meant to prepare people for the next 40 years of their lives. It would make sense to have an answer to the questions many students may have memorized by now.
Whether or not you have answered those questions in a way that satisfies your standards for life after high school, the above comments can be deemed beneficial for each Walton-Verona attendee. The authors of the college/career advice were all in the same shoes students are in now. Their encouraging words of wisdom came from a place of reflecting on the path that led them to their careers at Walton-Verona High School. Receiving the advice in the slideshow was not difficult by any means which exemplifies the unique characteristics of Walton-Verona staff and their willingness to better students’ quality of education. If you have any further questions, please reach out to any teacher, counselor, or administrator.
