Every year, St. Patrick’s Day arrives, and the same thing happens: people show up to school in green, talk about luck, and maybe even pinch someone who forgot. St. Patrick’s Day has become one of those holidays that everyone participates in, but not everyone really understands it. But at schools like Walton-Verona, it’s still just a regular school day. No day off, just a little extra green in the hallways. The holiday originally honored Saint Patrick and Irish culture, but today it feels more like a shared trend than a true celebration. Every year, you see fewer and fewer people wearing green or even trying to seem festive for the holiday. Still, that doesn’t make it pointless. It gives students a break from routine and something simple to enjoy together. Happy Late St. Patrick’s Day Everyone! and Happy 4th Quarter!
