Have you ever listened to a song and it felt like you got cold while listening to a certain part? It happens because the brain reacts emotionally to certain sounds, lyrics, or sudden changes in music. When a beat drops or a song is built so perfectly, the brain releases dopamine. The same chemical connected to excitement and emotion. That’s why some songs can make a select amount of people feel almost frozen for a second. Music has always felt deeper to me than just background noise. Certain songs can completely change a mood or make a moment feel bigger than it really is. This effect is called “frisson”. In my opinion it’s very interesting how something invisible like sound can affect people so deeply. Music finds a way to connect emotions, memories, and physical feelings in a way almost nothing else can.
