KSA (Kentucky Summative Assessment) will be in full throttle next week, which can be quite overwhelming for some. To assist in advising those who will be tested, I asked some upper classmen what advise they can offer. Here is what students say:
“[T]ake your time. Don’t rush it. Don’t freak out over it either…You’ll be proud in the end.” – Cheyenne Auton, Senior
“Take your time. Don’t stress yourself out. Get good sleep before and have water with you.” – Kameryn Limle, Senior
“State testing can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. In times past, I always make sure to eat at least something before testing because an empty stomach is a distracted brain. The best thing I can say is – do your best because that’s what will get you in a good position.” – Kyah Toller, Senior
“…eating breakfast is crucial. I don’t know about everyone else, but I get very hungry if I get stuck being bored for too long. Therefore, eat your breakfast so you can focus on the task at hand instead of worrying about what you’re eating for lunch and dinner.” – Sadie Johnson, Sophomore
All agree – FOOD, REST, and HYDRATION is essential in testing. So, be sure you eat a healthy breakfast before you begin your testing and keep a water bottle nearby. Best said by Sadie, “Good luck on all your exams and get a good night’s rest. Don’t stay up until three in the morning!”
